Fundraising is one of the most important factors which can contribute to taking a cause further. With ‘giving’ becoming more prevalent among donors, so is awareness of various causes and the charities associated with it. In these times, it becomes even more challenging for charities to raise funds and sustain it. It is also takes effort to build awareness among the donor community of the exemplary work that you carry out.

Off late, events are being used as a platform to achieve the dual goal of raising money and awareness. Activities like participating in a run/marathon, dining for a cause, watching a concert for a cause are some that have become increasingly popular since they also fulfill a need of the donor of having a different experience. While it is more economical to participate in an event organized by a third party – like taking part in the London marathon/triathlon, organizing your own event always serves a great opportunity to build unprecedented awareness, attract new donors and spread the message.

The event can be exclusive to your charity or we could also promote it as an open event inviting other people to join in. Most participants raise money to cover the cost of the trip and raise additional funds to support the charity.
